Homicide #43/2011, Victor Seung, 33, Post-mortem results released, Man charged with Second Degree Murder, Joon Sung Kim, 38
On Friday, December 2, 2011, at 1:15 p.m. police responded a call for a body found in a car on Willowdale Avenue.
It is reported that:
- police located a deceased man, with apparent trauma to his body, inside a car.
The victim has been identified as Victor Seung, 33, of Toronto.
The post-mortem examination concluded the cause of death was sharp force injuries to the body.
Joon Sung Kim, 38, of Toronto, also known as Kevin Kim, has been charged with:
1) Second Degree Murder.
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Saturday, December 3, 2011, room 101, at 10 a.m.

Public Safety Alert, Potential Sex Offender
The Toronto Police Service would like to alert the public to a potential sex offender investigation.
On Friday, December 2, 2011, at 1:40 a.m., it is reported that:
- a man broke into a home on Kinnie Court in the Jane Street/Finch Avenue West area,
- he went into a woman's bedroom where she was awakened when he turned on the light,
- the woman screamed and the man fled the scene.
It is further reported that:
- in the beginning of November, the same woman was standing in her kitchen when she saw a man peering into the rear patio window of her home,
- the woman screamed and the man fled the scene.
The suspect is described as black, 5'10"-5'11", 180-189 lbs., muscular build and dark eyes. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket with hood and a plain black toque, rolled up at the front.

Public Safety Alert Fraud investigation targeting Jewish Community
The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a fraud investigation targeting the Jewish community.
It is reported that:
- on two separate occasions, a man has befriended two different women from the Jewish community, gaining their trust by sharing stories of Israel and talking about Judaism,
- once trust was established, the man said he was in need money and promised repayment, usually through money transfers,
- the women each gave the man cash, believing they were doing a good deed, however no repayment has been received.
The suspect is described as 45 to 50-years-old, 55, medium build, clean shaven, wears eyeglasses and has an Israeli accent.
Police believe there may be more victims.

Woman charged in parental abduction investigation from 1993 Patricia OByrne, 54
On Thursday, December 1, 2011, the Toronto Police Service, in conjunction with the Victoria Police Department, concluded a parental abduction investigation that led to the arrest of a woman.
It is alleged that:
- in May 1993, the accused left Toronto taking her 20-month-old daughter, violating a custody order.
On May 29, 1993, police were contacted by the girl's father and police started an investigation.
Over the next 18 years, the police, advocacy groups for missing children and the girl's father followed up on tips.
On June 10, 1993, an arrest warrant was issued for Patricia OByrne, now 54, for:
1) Abduction in Contravention of a Custody Order
In September 2011, a tip was received through the Missing Children Society of Canada that the accused may be living on Vancouver Island.
On Thursday, December 1, 2011, with the assistance of the Victoria Police Department the accused was arrested in Victoria, BC.
The Canadian Centre for Child Protection/MissingKids.ca met with the abducted person and continues to provide support to her.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Monday December 5, 2011, room 501, at 10 a.m.

On Friday, December 2, 2011, between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., 42 Division will be kicking off Project Rope. Officers will be riding TTC buses and speaking with riders about safety concerns regarding cellphones and other small handheld electrical devices and the theft of them.
TTC riders are being targeted either while waiting to board a bus, or on exiting the bus. Suspects are grabbing the device out of the hands of the users or asking for the time to lure the victim into taking out one of these devices at which time the suspect will grab the device and flee.
Officers will be using this opportunity to provide riders with safety tips to protect their personal property and enhance their awareness of crime prevention.
