Police request assistance with aggravated assault investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an aggravated assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 1 p.m., several people attacked a man on Mornelle Court, near Morningside Avenue/Ellesmere Road area.

- the man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries,

- the suspects were seen fleeing the area.

Public Safety Alert, Police request assistance with shooting investigation

On Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 8:40 p.m., police responded to a call for the sound of gunshots in the Keele Street/Wilson Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- a man went to a supermarket at a shopping plaza in the Keele Street and Wilson Avenue area,

- the man then exited the supermarket, leaving the shopping plaza in a car,

- the man returned and a single gunshot was fired from the car, striking the front windows of the store,

- the man fled the scene.

The suspect is described as black, with a dark complexion, 20-25, 5’9"-6’ with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a green hooded jacket and grey jeans.

The suspect was last seen driving a four-door green car, possibly a 2003 or 2004 Mercury Mystique.

Public Safety Alert, Stolen Medication

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of stolen medication.

It is reported that:

- between 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011, and Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 10 a.m., a car was broken into on Algoma Street

- 50 tablets of Percocets were stolen from the car

The tablets could be harmful if ingested, especially to children.

Missing woman, Helen Krstinov, 24

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Helen Krstinov, 24, was last seen on Thursday October 13, 2011, in the Midland Avenue/Lawrence Avenue East area.

She is described as white, 5’, 106 lbs., brown eyes with straight brown long hair. She was last seen wearing a brown leather bomber jacket, blue jeans, black boats and a dark grey sweater.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Missing man, Edward Crespi, 71

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Edward Crespi, 71, was last seen on Saturday, October 15, 2011, in the Eglinton Avenue West/Marlee Avenue area.

He is described as white, 5’9”, 140 lbs., with a beard and mustache.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Hector Leforte, 55, was last seen on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 9 a.m., in the Queen Street/Church Street area.

He is described as white, 5’9”, 240 lbs., balding gray hair. He was last seen wearing a blue checkered shirt, grey hoodie and blue jeans.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Man faces ten charges in fraud investigation, Tzvi Erez, 44

The Toronto Police Service, Financial Crimes Unit – Corporate Section has been investigating allegations from complainants of fraud dating back to 2005.

It is alleged that:

- the accused, who previously owned a printing business, deceived the complainants by claiming to conduct business with world renowned companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Movado, Colgate-Palmolive, Loblaw and Subway

- the complainants believed they were investing in these printing contracts when in fact, no contracts ever existed

- in total, of the ten complainants who have come forward, the accused obtained approximately $9 million between 2005 and 2009

On Tuesday, October 25, 2011, Tzvi Erez, 44, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) ten counts of Fraud over ($5,000)

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, in courtroom 111, on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 11 a.m.

Detective Rudy Martin of the Financial Crimes Unit - Corporate Section will be available today at 1 p.m. for comment at 416-808-7300.

Homicide #36/2011, Jefflin Beals, 25 Update, Correction of suspect's age, Photo of Darnell St. Clair Wright, 32, released, Suspect vehicle located

On Sunday, October 2, 2011, at 2:12 a.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the Crawford Street/Lobb Avenue area.

A photograph is now available of Darnell St. Clair Wright, 32, also known as Darnell Grant.

He is described as brown, 5'10", 180 lbs., black hair and may have facial hair. He has a number of tattoos on his body, including his neck. He is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach him. Call 9-1-1.

Police believe he may be heading to the Halifax, Nova Scotia, area.

The 2012 Hyundai Sonata with Ontario licence plate BMDZ 171 has been recovered and is no longer a vehicle of interest. It is a rental vehicle and has been returned to the rental agency.

John Douglas MacDonald, 58, was last seen on Monday, October 24, 2011, at approximately 6:30 a.m., in the Danforth Avenue/Victoria Park Avenue area.

He was located on Monday, October 24, 2011, at approximately 11:30 p.m.
