Man charged with sexual assault, Bhaskar Chanda, 28
The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
- the accused and the victim are both students at the University of Toronto and are known to each other
- the woman, 28, and the accused attended a pub in the Yonge Street/Carlton Street area
- they went to the accuseds apartment where she was sexually assaulted
On Wednesday, December 30, 2011, Bhaskar Chanda, 28, of Toronto, was charged with Sexual Assault.
He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, December 31, 2011 and has since been released.
Police believe there may be other victims.

Police request assistance with voyeurism investigation, Security camera images of suspect released
The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a voyeurism investigation at York University.
It is reported that:
- on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 6:05 p.m., two women entered one of the washrooms at Curtis Lecture Hall at York University
- while they were using the washroom, they both noticed a man in a stall beside them
- they saw the man reach under the stall holding a cellular phone in his hand
- both women exited the washroom and the man fled the scene
It is further reported that:
- on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 8:30 p.m., a third women walked into another washroom at Curtis Lecture Hall at York University
- while she was using the washroom, she noticed a man looking over the stall
- the man then fled the scene
The suspect is described as brown, 20-25, 58-5' 9, 169-180 lbs,, thin face, chinstrap beard, dark eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a grey knitted sweater, blue jeans, grey shiny sneakers with two straps and a grey toque.

On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, police arrested two men in a forcible confinement investigation.
It is alleged that:
- between Monday, January 9, 2012 and Tuesday, January 10, 2012, a 24-year-old man was taken to a house in the Kipling Avenue/Kingsview Boulevard area
- the man consumed alcoholic beverages
- the man was then repeatedly beaten and stabbed in his hand, leg and head throughout the night by a man
- the victim escaped and fled the scene
It is further alleged that:
- on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, police executed a search warrant at the home
- police seized one pound of marijuana, a quantity of ecstasy pills, one ounce of khetamine, 10 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of cocaine and $20,000 in Canadian currency
Saeb Khalili-Arabi, 31, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) two counts of Assault
2) Assault causing bodily harm
3) Weapons Dangerous
4) Intimidation
5) Threatening Death
6) Aggravated assault
7) Forcible Confinement

Open House, Sunday, January 15, 2012, noon, 53 Division, 75 Eglinton Avenue West
On Sunday, January 15, 2012, between noon and 4 p.m., at 75 Eglinton Avenue West, Staff Inspector Heinz Kuck is inviting the residents and business community of 53 Division to attend the annual Open House.
Community members are welcome to attend 53 Division to meet local officers and take a tour of the station. The tour will involve crime prevention and educational displays and visitors will have a rare opportunity to view an original 1957 Chevy police car.
On hand will be members of the TPS Mounted Unit, Police Dog Services, the Marine Unit and the Emergency Task Force.
Refreshments will be served.
53 Division's boundaries are Lawrence Avenue West to the north, Bloor Street to the south, the Don River to the east and Bathurst Street to the west.

Two men, one woman, face 25 charges in drug/firearm investigation, Loaded semi-automatic handgun seized
In December 2011, the Toronto Drug Squad started a drug investigation in the Finch Avenue West/Jane Street area.
It is alleged that:
- on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, police executed a search warrant on a residence on San Romano Way
- police seized a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and a semi-automatic Browning 9mm handgun with ten rounds of ammunition
- police also located two children, ages three and five, in the residence
Marlon Davidson, 28, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) four counts of Traffic in Cocaine
2) two counts of Possession of cocaine-FTP
3) Possession of Marijuana
4) Possession of Unregistered Restricted Weapon
5) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6) Possession of Prohibited Device
7) Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
8) Possession of Firearm with Defaced/Altered serial number
9) Careless storage of a firearm

Lana Gore, 35, was last seen on Tuesday, January 10, 2011, in the Queen Street West/Lansdowne Avenue area.
She is described as white, 56, 170-200 lbs., dark-brown hair, brown eyes and has a pale complexion. She was last seen wearing a long, brown coat.
Police are concerned for her safety as she may be a danger to herself and others.
If located, do not approach, call 911.

George May, 51, was last seen on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 7 p.m., in the Bathurst Street/Dundas Street West area.
He is described as white, 6, 160 lbs., grey/brown hair with a full beard. He was last seen wearing a blue spring jacket, blue jeans and running shoes.
Police are concerned for his safety.
