On Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 3 p.m., at Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, 100 Brimley Road South, there will be an information session and photography opportunity for Project Ultimate Survivors.
Project Ultimate Survivors (Project US) is a Toronto Police Service 41 Division pilot project created by School Resource Officer Constable Michelle Tasse, in collaboration with numerous other Divisional officers, the Toronto Catholic District School Board and other outdoor professionals including Les Stroud (Survivorman).
Officers will participate in a mentoring capacity while helping outdoor professionals teach a host of wilderness skills. Officers will assist participants adapt these lessons for application in an urban environment.
A total of 24 youth participants, between 16 and 18, will be recruited from Blessed Cardinal Newman along with 24 officers identified from across the city to participate in this unique outdoor program.
Youth candidate selection will be facilitated by school administration in consultation with the program coordinators.
The pilot program will run between March 2012 and June 2012.
Purpose of the project:
1) Build, foster and maintain positive relationships between youth and members of the Toronto Police Service by mentoring throughout the program and sustained contact through social media outlets
2) Facilitate a safe learning environment that engages youth and police officers in the non-traditional form of outdoor experiential learning.

For the fourth year, the Black Community Police Consultative Committee (BCPCC) will host its popular event, "The Great Debate," on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the Ontario Federation of Labour at 15 Gervais Drive. The event invites students from all over Toronto to participate in a debate. Our goal is to show black youth ways that they can positively engage in their community and use debating skills to express their differences of opinions.
The BCPCC mandate is to work together with the Toronto Police Service, (TPS), in an advisory capacity, to promote and advocate for competent, equitable policing and safe communities.
The Great Debate is an initiative that brings police officers and youth together to accomplish the following goals:

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a robbery investigation.
It is reported that:
- between January 25, 2012 and February 12, 2012, a man walked into four pharmacies in Toronto
- the man produced a note demanding Oxycontin and morphine tablets
- he indicated he was armed with a handgun
- the man fled the scene with a quantity of drugs
The suspect is described as white, 25-35, 510"-61".

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.
On Tuesday, March 6, 2012, the Sex Crime Unit, with the assistance of officers from 23 Division, arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation at 4500 Jane Street.

As a result of the news release, police obtained information leading to the identity of the accused.
It is alleged that:
-on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, between 10:47 p.m. and 11:04 p.m., a man sexually assaulted a 13-year old girl on the elevator
Danny Correa, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with Sexual Assault.
He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 10 a.m.
Police believe there may be more victims.
