THREE DANGEROUS INCIDENTS-3 HEROIC SECURITY GUARDS

FEBRUARY 15 2012

NASHVILLE TN. Metro Nashville and Vanderbilt University police officers were on high alert over the week-end as they searched for a man who had raped a woman in a parking garage at the university and was accused of sexually attacking several other women near the campus.

On Sunday, Metro police say that a Centennial Memorial Hospital security officer spotted the wanted man, Tyrone Batts, 25, on foot on Leslie Avenue and took him into custody.

Police have charged Batts with two counts of rape, attempted rape and robbery involving a number of incidents.

At the time of his arrest, Batts was on $50,000 bond for aggravated robbery and felon in possession of a weapon charges. He was also convicted of indecent exposure in July 2011, and was sentenced to three years for cocaine possession in 2008.

Police said that the alert security officer probably prevented other violent crimes from happening.

MONTGOMERY, AL - Montgomery police have arrested two men for a shooting and are continuing their investigating of the shooting at Eastdale Mall.
The victim, an unidentified adult male, was shot multiple times, according to police on the scene. The victim was rushed to Baptist South Medical Center for surgery. He is listed in critical but stable condition.

The shooting occurred at 3:20pm in the Sears parking lot closest to the Belk department store. The suspects were seen fleeing in the direction of the Max Credit Union.

Mall security responded and followed two suspects, according to police. Alabama State Troopers also put a helicopter in the air to assist in the search.

Montgomery police were alerted by security that the suspects had abandoned their car and were running on foot and near-by officers pursued the two suspects.

Officers took the unidentified individuals into custody a short time later.

Authorities say this was not a random act of violence. The victim was targeted and there were no other individuals harmed in the incident. There’s no other information available at the moment.
Police say that it was because of the mall security officer’s efforts to tail the men that police were able to make a quick arrest.

SOMERVILLE NJ- Quick thinking by a security guard saved a 57-year-old woman from a carjacking early Saturday morning. According to Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano and Somerville Borough Chief of Police Dennis Manning, Raymond K. Kaeser III, 20, of Highland Road in the Colonia section of Woodbridge was arrested in connection with the incident.

Soriano said that at 4:05 a.m., the female victim was sitting in her parked vehicle in Somerset Medical Center’s parking deck when Kaeser entered her vehicle by smashing the rear passenger window with his fist. According to the prosecutor, once inside the victim’s vehicle, he ordered her to drive out of the deck. When she refused, Soriano said, the defendant threatened to kill her.
As the victim began to drive toward the parking deck exit, she flagged down a hospital security guard, Soriano said. Seeing that the victim alerted the guard, Kaiser pushed the victim’s right leg down on the gas pedal in an attempt to get her to continue driving. The security guard intervened and notified the Somerville Police Department, the prosecutor said.
Somerville police responded and arrested Kaeser without incident.

Kaeser was charged with carjacking, first degree, and was sent to the Somerset County Jail. Bail was set by Judge Margaret Goodzeit at $100,000, cash only.
