Police request assistance with shooting investigation

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a shooting investigation.

On Friday, November 18, 2011, at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at The Delta Chelsea Hotel, at 33 Gerrard Street West.

It is reported that:

- police attended and found evidence that a firearm had been fired within the hotel

- no victims have been identified or any firearm recovered at this time

Toronto East Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) 39 Howden Road, New hours of operation

On Monday, November 21, 2011, at 6:30 a.m., the Toronto East Collision Reporting Centre, at 39 Howden Road, will be changing the hours of operation to coincide with the Toronto North Collision Reporting Centre.

The Toronto Collision Reporting Centres are located at:

New hours of operation: Open seven days a week all year, 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., (Previously 24 hours - seven days a week)

Hours of operation: Open seven days a week all year, 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

The Collision Reporting Centres of Toronto are partnerships between the Toronto Police Service, insurance providers and private enterprise groups.

Drivers involved in property damage collisions must report within 24 hours to a Collision Reporting Centre.

The Toronto Police Service would also like to take this opportunity to remind anyone or any agency, who has information in print or on websites regarding the Toronto East CRC, to amend this information by Monday, November 21, 2011.

Man faces four charges in firearm investigation, Rifle seized

On Friday, November 18, 2011, at 8:11 p.m., members of the 31 Division Major Crime Unit, along with the Emergency Task Force, executed a search warrant at a home on Cherrylawn Avenue.

It is alleged that:

- during the search warrant, a Remington 30.06 rifle, with attached scope, was seized

Kyle Peluso, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
2) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
3) Careless Storage of a Firearm
4) Possession of a Firearm Obtained by the Commission of an Offence

The accused appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, November 19, 2011, room 101.

Police request assistance with shooting investigation

On Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 11:23 p.m., police received a radio call for the sound of gunshots in the area of 2972 Islington Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 25-year-old man was at the rear of a plaza at 2972 Islington Avenue, with some friends, when two men approached the group, one with a firearm, and opened fire

- the 25-year-old man was struck in the leg

He was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects are described as male, 5’10"-5'11”. one wearing a black hooded top, the other wearing an orange-and-yellow hooded top with a black hood.

Etobicoke Lakeshore Chistmas Parade, Saturday, December 3, 2011, Road closures

On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the Lakeshore BIA will hold their annual Christmas Parade on Lakeshore Boulevard West. At 8 a.m. the parade will assemble on Birmingham Street, between Dwight Avenue to Islington Avenue, on Dwight Avenue, between Birmingham Street to Lakeshore Boulevard West, and First Street, between Lakeshore Boulevard to Birmingham Street.

At 10 a.m. the parade will proceed as follows:

Formation: Birmingham Street & Dwight Avenue, East on Birmingham Street, South on Dwight Avenue, West on Lakeshore Boulevard West and Dispersal at 3620 Lakeshore Boulevard West.

The T.T.C. streetcars on Lakeshore Boulevard West will be replaced at 9 a.m., with bus services, which will utilize the following diversion route until the parade is finished at noon:

Northbound on Royal York Road, Westbound on Struthers Street; Westbound on New Toronto Street, Northbound on Kipling Avenue, Westbound on Horner Avenue and Southbound on Brown’s Line. It will then return in the opposite direction.

The 44 Kipling South bus will return north at the Old Kipling Loop north of Lakeshore Boulevard West.

The Islington 110 Service will run the following route:

Southbound on Islington Avenue, Westbound on Birmingham Avenue, Southbound on Ninth Street, Westbound to Tenth Street, Northbound on Coin Street, Eastbound on Garnett Janes Road and return in the opposite direction.

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions. Members of the public should anticipate traffic disruptions, with local impact on Toronto Transit Commission routes.
