Project Decepticon, 26 search warrants executed in drug investigation
Between August 2011 and November 2011, members of the Toronto Police Service Drug Squad, with the assistance of Durham Regional Police Service, York Regional Police Service, Belleville Police Service and Hamilton Police Service, conducted an investigation into the alleged illicit sale and distribution of narcotics, primarily ecstasy and cocaine.
The investigation was Project Decepticon. It targeted a network of individuals alleged to be supplying and distributing ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana throughout Toronto. This investigation revealed the organization had ties to York Region, Durham Region, Hamilton and Belleville.
On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, Project Decepticon culminated with 26 search warrants executed at various addresses across the GTA. In total, 18 people were arrested and numerous drug-related and Criminal Code charges have been laid.
A news conference will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 1 p.m., at TPS headquarters, releasing further details on this investigation and displaying items seized.

Missing boy located, Adrien Tallon, 15

Adrien Tallon, 15, was last seen on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 3 a.m., in the Parliament Street/Queen Street East area.

STEP UP and Be Safe, 2011 Pedestrian Campaign Results
On Sunday, November 13, 2011, the Toronto Police Service concluded its week long STEP UP (Safety Tips for Educating Pedestrians in an Urban Population) and Be Safe Pedestrian Campaign. Pedestrian safety continues to be identified as a Toronto Police Service priority, with an increased focus on reducing injury and death to pedestrians through awareness, education and enforcement.
Of the 11,420 tickets issued:
782 tickets were issued for red/amber light - fail to stop
797 tickets were issued for Improper left/right turns
1,080 tickets were issued for disobeying stop signs
230 charges were laid for cyclist - ride in crosswalk/crossover
1,049 tickets were issued to pedestrians
58 charges were laid for disobeying School Bus signals
6,468 tickets were issued to motorists/cyclists for other hazardous offences that affected pedestrians
An additional 1,470 parking offences were issued for interfering with the safe use of pedestrian crosswalks, crossovers and school zones.
This year there have been 31 traffic fatalities. Collision analysis shows that pedestrian fatalities represent approximately 50% of yearly traffic fatalities in Toronto. There have been 15 pedestrian fatalities this year.
All motorists, transit-users, cyclists and pedestrians are reminded that road safety is everyones responsibility, obey all traffic laws and be diligent when using our streets.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 7 a.m., on the Millwood Bridge, in the Pape Avenue/Donlands Avenue area, 53, 54 and 55 Division officers, in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation, will be conducting a commercial vehicle inspection with a strong focus on driver and equipment safety conditions.
The Toronto Police Service is asking all commercial vehicle drivers to ensure their load is properly secured on their vehicles, as well as to complete a circle-check of their vehicle prior to the start of their day.

Man wanted, Phu Trinh, 27, Photograph of suspect released
The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a man wanted in connection with a series of break-and-enters.
It is alleged that:
- between July 2011 and November 2011, the suspect broke into a number of homes in the Jane Street/Wilson Avenue area
- the suspect stole laptops, cash, jewelry and electronics from the homes
Phu Trinh, 27, also known as Peter, of no fixed address, is wanted for:
1) Break-and-Enter

Man faces two charges in sexual assault investigation, Ahmad Suleman Ghanchi, 22, Photograph of man released
On Thursday, November 10, 2011, police arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 11 p.m., a woman was walking in downtown Toronto when she was approached by a man in a blue two-door car
- the man offered the woman a ride and, after she accepted, he spoke about going back to his place
- when she refused and attempted to leave his car, the man produced a large knife and then sexually assaulted her
Ahmad Suleman Ghanchi, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Sexual Assault with a weapon
2) Assault
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, courtroom 501, at 10 a.m.
Police believe there may be other victims.
