Homicide #1/2012, Jamahl Franklin, 20

On Sunday, January 1, 2012, at 4 a.m., police responded to a call for a shooting at 101 Hupfield Trail.

It is reported that:

- police located a man, on the sidewalk outside the house, with apparent gunshot wounds to his body

- the man was pronounced dead at the scene

The victim has been identified as Jamahl Franklin, 20, of Toronto.

Homicide #46/2011, Guang Lu, 45, Man charged with second Degree Murder, Chi Kuan, 57

On Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 2:10 p.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing at 536 Dundas Street West.

It is reported that:

- police located a woman suffering from stab wounds to her neck

- the woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on Saturday, December 31, 2011

The victim has been identified as Guang Lu, 45, of Toronto.

On Monday, January 2, 2012, at 12:30 p.m., police charged Chi Kuan, 57, of Toronto, with:

1) Second Degree Murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, room 101, at 10 a.m.

Homicide #2/2012, Mike Pimentel, 24

On Sunday, January 1, 2012, at 2:48 a.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing near 171 East Liberty Street.

It is reported that:

- police located a man suffering from trauma to his body

- he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died

The victim has been identified as Mike Pimentel, 24, of Toronto.

Police request assistance with child abduction/ sexual assault investigation, Update, YouTube video released

On Wednesday, December 28, 2011, the Toronto Police Service issued a news release regarding a child abduction/sexual assault investigation.

It was reported that:

- on Monday, December 26, 2011, between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., a man entered a house in the Bathurst Street/Wilson Avenue area

- a young girl was abducted from the house and sexually assaulted by the man

- family members located the young girl minutes after the abduction and saw a man fleeing the scene

Sexual Assault Alert, Man wanted, Update, Composite sketch of suspect released

On Monday December 19, 2011, the Toronto Police Service issued a press release regarding a sexual assault investigation.

The suspect is described as black, 27, 5’9", medium build with a chin-strap beard. He was last seen wearing a black coat and pants. He was possibly carrying a beverage bottle in his hand.

A composite sketch of the suspect has been released.

Man faces two charges in sexual assault investigation

On Wednesday, December 28, 2011, police arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- during December 2011, the accused sexually assaulted two women on the Yonge Street subway line

Ali Nateghi, 29, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) two counts of sexual assault

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Thursday, December 29, 2011, room 501, at 10 a.m.

- on Friday, December 23, 2011, the suspect contacted the victim numerous times, threatening to kill her

Harjit Singh Hundal, 32, of Brampton, is wanted for:

1) Aggravated Assault
2) Intimidation
3) Attempt Obstruct Justice
4) two counts of Threatening Death
5) Criminal Harassment
6) 18 counts of Fail to Comply Probation

The suspect is described as brown, 5’10" and 150 lbs.

Missing boy located, David Cummins, 12

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a missing boy.

David Cummins, 12, was last seen on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at 2:30 p.m., in the Sumach Street/Gerrard Street area.

He was located on Thursday, December 29, 2011.

Police request assistance with theft investigation, Security camera video of suspect released

On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 7 p.m., police responded to a call for a theft in the Midland Avenue/Progress Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- a man walked into a furniture store

- the man rifled through the victim's jacket which was lying in the front of the store

- the man stole $5,900 in cash from the victim's jacket

- the man fled the scene

He is described as white, 50-60, 5'10"-6'1" and 190-200 lbs. He was wearing glasses.
