Man charged with Indecent Act

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their direct assistance with this investigation.

On Wednesday, January 4, 2012, police issued a Public Safety Alert requesting the public's assistance identifying a potential sex offender.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., a man was seen travelling on the westbound Bloor subway line, exposing himself

As a result of the news release, police received a Crime Stoppers tip that led to the identity of the accused.

Sasha Szentgyorgyi, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Mischief Interfere with Property
2. Indecent Acts

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Friday, February 24, 2012, 11 a.m., room 111.

Sexual assault investigation, Update

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation and request the public's assistance identifying two outstanding suspects.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, January 2, 2012, at 4:40 p.m., a 57-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by three men in the Weston Road/Finch Avenue West area

- the woman got into an elevator in the lobby of an apartment building on Weston Road

- the three men followed her into the elevator and the woman was sexually assaulted by the men

Missing girl located, Desaray Winter, 12

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a missing girl.

Desaray Winter, 12, was last seen on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at approximately 4 p.m., in the Lawrence Avenue East/Pharmacy Avenue area.

She was located on Thursday, January 13, 2012.

Man charged with Sexual Assault, Two suspects sought, Security images of suspects released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation and request the public's assistance identifying two outstanding suspects.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, January 2, 2012, at 4:40 p.m., a 57-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by three men in the Weston Road/Finch Avenue West area

On Monday, January 2, 2012, Nandakumar Rajalingam, 35, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Assault

Two suspects remain outstanding.

The first suspect is described as having a brown complexion, 5'8"-5'10", 30s, with black hair, shaved short on the sides and wearing a black jacket.

The second suspect is described as having a brown complexion, 5'8"-5'10", late 30s, with black curly/wavy hair, mustache and wearing a tan leather jacket.

Police request assistance with shooting investigation, John Garland Plaza

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a shooting investigation.

On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 7:40 p.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the parking lot of John Garland Plaza at 127 John Garland Boulevard.

Officers attended and located a man suffering from an obvious gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It is reported that a white Hyundai was seen leaving the area. There are no suspect descriptions at this time.

Missing girl, Desaray Winter, 12

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing girl.

Desaray Winter, 12, was last seen on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at approximately 4 p.m., in the Lawrence Avenue East/Pharmacy Avenue area.

She is described as having a light-brown complexion, 5’5", with a thin build and black hair in a pony tail. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket, dark jeans, a white T-shirt, black/white Nike shoes and was carrying a black backpack.

Two men face 24 charges in armed bank robbery investigation

On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, police arrested two men ("Uptown Bandits") in connection with a robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- between March 2011 and January 2012, the accused robbed seven banks in Toronto and York Region

- they walked into banks with their faces masked, pointing firearms and making demands to customers and employees

- they took over the bank and stole a large quantity of money

- they then fled the scene in a car

Robert Dean, 31, of Toronto, has been charged with:

Man charged with sexual assault, Bhaskar Chanda, 28

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- the accused and the victim are both students at the University of Toronto and are known to each other

- the woman, 28, and the accused attended a pub in the Yonge Street/Carlton Street area

- they went to the accused’s apartment where she was sexually assaulted

On Wednesday, December 30, 2011, Bhaskar Chanda, 28, of Toronto, was charged with Sexual Assault.

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, December 31, 2011 and has since been released.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Police request assistance with voyeurism investigation, Security camera images of suspect released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a voyeurism investigation at York University.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 6:05 p.m., two women entered one of the washrooms at Curtis Lecture Hall at York University

- while they were using the washroom, they both noticed a man in a stall beside them

- they saw the man reach under the stall holding a cellular phone in his hand

- both women exited the washroom and the man fled the scene

It is further reported that:

- on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 8:30 p.m., a third women walked into another washroom at Curtis Lecture Hall at York University

- while she was using the washroom, she noticed a man looking over the stall

- the man then fled the scene

The suspect is described as brown, 20-25, 5’8”-5' 9”, 169-180 lbs,, thin face, chinstrap beard, dark eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a grey knitted sweater, blue jeans, grey shiny sneakers with two straps and a grey toque.
