On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 10 a.m., at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre at 3401 Dufferin Street, in front of Famous Players/Indigo Mall Entrance, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) will kick off its annual Lock It or Lose It campaign, a proactive crime prevention program that encourages motorists to take a few simple precautions to protect their vehicles and valuables from theft just in time for the holiday season.
Media are invited to join police officers on a walk through the Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot as officers look for unsecured vehicles.
Police leaders and officers from the OPP and municipal police services will be joined by corporate supporters to kick off the OACPs annual province-wide crime prevention campaign.
Inclement weather alternate location: directly inside the Famous Players/Indigo mall entrance.
Under the Lock It or Lose It program, police officers throughout Ontario examine parked vehicles to confirm they are locked and that no valuables have been left in plain view.

Media advisory, Monday, November 28, 2011, 5 p.m.-11 p.m., 42 Division, 242 Milner Avenue, Project Rope Cellphone Safety Alert
On Monday, November 28, 2011, between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., 42 Division will be kicking off Project Rope. Officers will be riding TTC buses and speaking with riders about safety concerns regarding cellphones and other small handheld electrical devices and the theft of them.
TTC riders are being targeted either while waiting to board a bus, or on exiting the bus. Suspects are grabbing the device out of the hands of the users or asking for the time to lure the victim into taking out one of these devices at which time the suspect will grab the device and flee.
Officers will be using this opportunity to provide riders with safety tips to protect their personal property and enhance their awareness of crime prevention.

Man faces three charges in weapons investigation, Replica starter pistol seized
On Sunday, November 27, 2011, at 2:55 a.m., police responded to a call for a person with a gun at 2300 Finch Avenue West.
It is alleged that:
- a dispute occurred between a group of people at the party
- a man then waved a semi-automatic pistol
Maverick Dupal, 24, of North Bay, has been charged with:
1) Weapons Dangerous
2) Carry Concealed Weapon
3) Possession of a Prohibited Device
The accused was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Sunday, November 27, 2011, room 101, at 10 a.m.
It is alleged that:
- a dispute occurred between a group of people at the party
- a man then waved a semi-automatic pistol

In November 2011, police started an investigation into several break-and-enters into vehicles parked in public parking lots in downtown Toronto.
It is reported that:
- the suspect(s) have broken into vehicles, making off with items that have been left in plain view,
- the targeted items include Christmas gifts, loose change, GPS devices, MP3 players, wallets and cellphones.
The Toronto Police Service would like to remind the public that most thefts from cars are crimes of opportunity.
If your valuables are in plain view, you increase the likelihood that you will become a victim.
Please be vigilant with your personal belongings and ensure your valuables are kept out of sight.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a stabbing investigation.
It is reported that:
- on Saturday, November 26, 2011, in the early-morning hours, an altercation began inside a nightclub in the Richmond Street West/John Street area
- the altercation continued outside the nightclub
- one man stabbed three men
- the man fled with a group of people
The suspect is described as brown, 19-25, 5'7"-5'11", 130-150 lbs., short, dark hair, small tuft of facial hair on his chin and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a navy-blue or green sweater with a white collar.
The three victims were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have released security camera images of a Person of Interest.

On Friday, November 25, 2011, at 10:59 p.m., police responded to a call for a shooting at 234 Albion Road.
It is alleged that:
- one man shot another man in the stomach
Mahad Diblawe, 18, of Toronto, is wanted for:
1) Attempt Murder
He is described as black, 6'1", 150 lbs., with black hair.
Do not approach him. He is considered armed and dangerous.
