Fugitive arrested

On Friday, March 30, 2012, at 2:45 p.m., the Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad arrested a man wanted by the Polk County (Wisconsin) Sheriff’s Department.

Michael Chamandy, 50, is a Canadian citizen with permanent resident status in the United States.

it is alleged that:

- the accused was being investigated for a robbery at a convenience store where a pursuit occurred

- the accused rammed a police car at a road block injuring a Polk County Sheriff

- the accused was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Reckless Endangerment, Attempting to Flee or Elude an Officer, Felony Criminal Damage, Operating while Intoxicated, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of a short Barreled Shotgun or Rifle

- the accused was found guilty of Reckless Endangerment, Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, however he fled before sentencing

- the accused entered Canada on November 13, 2010, from the United States and took up residence in the Black Creek Drive/Trethewey Drive area

With the assistance of the Polk County Sheriff’s Department, 12 Division, and the Toronto Fugitive Squad, Michael Chamandy, 50, was arrest without incident.

He is presently being held in the West Detention Centre awaiting extradition.

Man faces three charges in aggravated assault investigation

On Saturday, March 31, 2012, police arrested a man in connection with an aggravated assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 3:30 a.m. two groups of men, not known to each other, were in a parking lot in the Dupont Street/Dufferin Street area

- one of the men from one group became involved in a fight with a man from the second group

- the accused then used a baseball bat to hit the victim

- the accused then fled the scene

The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.

Sinan Hazan, 19, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Aggravated Assault
2) Assault with a Weapon
3) Weapons Dangerous

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, room 111, at 11 a.m.

Sexual Assault Alert, Richmond Street/York Street area. Man wanted

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at midnight, an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man in the Richmond Street/York Street area.

The suspect is described as white, 25, 6'1", muscular build, blue eyes with dark-brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and black jeans.

Missing man, Igor Nzokirishaka, 25

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Igor Nzokirishaka, 25, was last seen on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the Sheppard Avenue East/Don Mills Road area.

He is described as black, 5’7"-5’10", 180-200 lbs., with black receding short hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a hood, blue jeans and brown Timberland boots.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Maxilene Gordon, 60, was last seen on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 8:30 a.m., in the Victoria Park Avenue/Finch Avenue East area.

She is described as black, 5’10” with a slim build. She was last seen wearing a dark wig, a black jacket, a black winter hat with a white letter “T” on the front and white runners. She was carrying a brown handbag and multi-coloured plastic shopping bags.
