Homicide #42/2010, Leo Buswa, 42, Update, Man charged with Second Degree Murder, Blake Paul, 27

On Sunday, August 29, 2010, police responded to a suspicious incident at a home on Clendenan Avenue, just north of Dundas Street West.

On Wednesday, March 7, 2012, Blake Paul, 27, of Moose Factory, Ontario, was arrested by RCMP officers in Eskanosi, Nova Scotia. He has been charged with:

1) Second Degree Murder

On Monday, March 12, 2012, police travelled to Sydney, Nova Scotia and returned the accused to Toronto.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, room 101, at 10 a.m.

The arrest was made with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Eskanosi Detachment, and the Cape Breton Regional Police Service.

Sexual Assault Alert, Man wanted

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a sexual assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, March 12, 2012, at 5 a.m., a 53-year-old woman was waiting at a bus shelter in the Lawrence Avenue West/Westona Street area

- a man approached the woman from behind, sexually assaulted her and robbed her of her belongings

- the man then ran towards Scarlett Road

The suspect is described as black. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black ski mask.

Public Safety Alert, Stolen medication

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of stolen medication.

It was reported that:

- on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 4 a.m, containers of morphine, Diazepam, Percocet, Nadol, Furosemide, and Spiroton were stolen in the Broadview Avenue/Queen Street East area

The pills/capsules could be harmful/fatal if ingested, especially to children

Public Safety Alert, Police request assistance with robbery investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a series of purse-snatch robberies.

It is reported that:

- between February 2012 and March 2012, a man has robbed a number of women of their purses in the Dundas Street West and Rusholme Road area

The suspect is described as white, 30-40, 5’6” -5’9” and 180 lbs. He was last seen wearing dark clothing

The public is reminded to be aware of their surroundings and to report any unusual occurrences to police.

Missing woman, Roseanna Ellis, 22

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Roseanna Ellis, 22, was last seen Monday, March 12, 2012, at 9 p.m., in the Rathburn Road/Renforth Drive area.

She is described as having a pale complexion, 5’5”, 114 lbs., with long reddish/brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a black bomber jacket, a black “Guess” T-shirt and black jeans.

She is known to frequent the Dundas Street West/Kipling Avenue area.

Police are concerned for her safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing girl.

Kaitlyn Skara, 13, was last seen Monday, March, 12, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., in the Gerrard Street East/Main Street area.

She is described as white, with a fair complexion, 5’5”, 150 lbs.,, medium build, with long, brown straight hair. She was last seen wearing a red hooded sweater with the words “Coney Island Lifeguard” across the front, and a white cross above the lettering, black pants and black shoes.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Two men face 36 charges in firearm investigation, Loaded Glock .40 calibre handgun seized

On Friday, March 9, 2012, at 4:55 a.m., police arrested two men in the area of 2063 Islington Avenue.

It is alleged that:

- police investigated two men in a parked vehicle

- police seized a loaded Glock .40 calibre handgun and a quantity of marijuana

Abdiweli Abdullahi, 23, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Possession of Marijuana
2) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
3) Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
4) Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
5) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
6) Careless storage of a firearm

Man faces five charges in armed robbery investigation, Update, Two more men arrested, facing seven charges

On Friday, March 9, 2012, police arrested two men in connection with a robbery investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, January 26, 2012, three men walked into a jewellery store in the Kingston Road/Eglinton Avenue East area

- one man, armed with a gun, jumped over the counter and pushed two employees to the back of the store

- the men stole a large quantity of jewellery, valued at $636,000

- the suspects then fled the scene

On Wednesday, February 1, 2012, Muhammad Ishaq, 26, Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) Robbery while armed with firearm
2) Weapons Dangerous
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
4) Assaulting a peace officer
5) Resisting or obstructing public or peace officer
