SECURITY GUARDS OFFICER BEATEN TIED UP DURING ROBBERY
ALBUQUERQUE NM Albuquerque police say a burglar dropped a safe and fired at an officer before being shot dead outside Archdiocese of Santa Fe offices in Albuquerque late Wednesday.
Investigators later found a security guard tied up inside the Catholic Center offices on St. Joseph’s Place NW near Coors Boulevard NW.
The unarmed guard told police he was making his rounds when he was confronted by two men who demanded money and beat him.
At about 10:30 p.m. police received a call about a burglary in progress at the Catholic Center. One of the first officers on the scene confronted a masked man carrying a safe.
The burglar then dropped the safe, pulled out a pistol and fire at least once at the officer. The officer returned fire striking the burglar at least twice.
The security officer is in good condition.

Sexual Assault Alert, Man arrested in sexual assault investigation, Joshua Dowholis, 31, Photograph of accused released
It is alleged that:
- since Monday, September 26, 2011, on three occasions, the accused met three male victims at a downtown bath house,
- the men would then go to the accused's home in the downtown core,
- while at the accused's home, he sexually assaulted the men.
On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, Joshua Dowholis, 31, of Toronto, was charged with:
1. Three counts of Sexual Assault,
2. Forcible Confinement,
3. Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine.
Police are urging anyone who had a sexual encounter with the accused to seek medical attention.
Police believe there may be more victims.

Arrests made in gold fraud investigation, One man outstanding, Industry alert
It is alleged that:
- the scheme revolved around fraudulent transfers of funds from one business account to another business account
- the funds were then utilized, by way of money transfers, to purchase gold bullion from a local precious-metal dealer
- the accused were successful in obtaining 9 kgs. of gold bullion, valued at approximately $528,000
- the accused attempted, but were unsuccessful, at purchasing an additional $680,000 worth of gold.
On Monday, October 3, 2011, the following men were arrested:
- Oleksandr Boguslavskyi, 46, of Toronto
- Igor Muraru, 50, of Toronto
- Henry Blouin, 64, of Mississauga
On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, the following man was arrested:
- Alex Gopkalo, 41, of Thornhill
The four men each face:
1) Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence,
2) Fraud over ($5,000)
The Financial Crimes Unit is requesting the public's assistance identifying an outstanding suspect.

Police request assistance with stabbing investigation
It is reported that:
- on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at 1:10 a.m, a man approached another man, asking him for marijuana, in the Mabelle Avenue/Cordova Avenue area
- the first man punched the man in the face and stabbed him in the back of the neck
The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
The suspect is described as light-skinned black, 30, 6, 190 lbs., with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.

Missing woman located, Marcia Pasika, 80
Marcia Pasika, 80, was last seen on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at approximately 1 p.m., in the Dupont Street/Spadina Road area.
