Missing man, Jotesh Rambaran, 46

The Toronto Police Service continues to request the public's assistance locating a missing man.

Jotesh Rambaran, 46, was last seen on Saturday, December 10, 2011, in the Kipling Avenue/Panorama Court area.

Police request assistance with shooting investigation

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with an investigation into a shooting on the York University campus.

On February 18, 2012 at 6:45 a.m., police responded to a call for a sound of gunshots at 360 Assiniboine Road, on the York University campus.

Officers attended and found an apartment door with damage thought to have been caused by a gunshot.

It is reported that:

- a projectile was shot through an apartment door which went into the apartment

- a person was in the apartment at the time, however no injuries were sustained

Man and woman face 17 charges, Loaded handgun, drugs and bulletproof vest seized

On Sunday, February 19, 2012, at 11:40 p.m., officers from the Gun and Gang Task Force and the Emergency Task Force executed a search warrant at an address on Albion Road.

It is alleged that:

- a woman was located in the home

- a quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia, a loaded 9mm handgun, a quantity of ammunition and a bulletproof vest were seized

It is further alleged that:

- prior to the execution of the search warrant, a man was arrested in connection with the address

- a firearm and a quantity of drugs were seized.

Akeem Bailey and Audrianna Ivy, both 22, of Toronto, have each been charged with:

1. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm
5. Careless Storage of Ammunition
6. Possession of Prohibited Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
7. Possession for the Purpose Marijuana (under)

Akeem Bailey is additionally charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose Marijuana (under)
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Both accused were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, February 20, 2012, 10 a.m., room 101.

Missing woman, Charmaine Lindsay, 39

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Charmaine Lindsay, 39, was last seen on the morning of Wednesday, February 15, 2012, in the Shuter Street/Parliament Street area.

She is described as black, 5'8", with a thin/medium build. She was last seen wearing a black leather jacket.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Fardosa Aden-Hussein, 14, was last seen on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in the Front Street East/Parliament Street area.

She is described as black, 5’5”, with a medium build.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Police request assistance with child abduction/ sexual assault investigation, Update, Man arrested

On Wednesday, December 28, 2011, the Toronto Police Service issued a news release making the public aware of a child abduction/sexual assault investigation.

It was reported that:

- on Monday, December 26, 2011, between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., a man entered a house in the Bathurst Street/Wilson Avenue area

On Saturday, February 18, 2012, a man was arrested and charged in connection with this investigation.

His name and charges will not be released at this time. The investigation is ongoing and the release of the accused's details may compromise the investigation. We ask that the public and media respect this request and not release any names or photographs of any persons connected to this investigation.

A news conference is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Further details to follow.

Police request assistance with break-and-enter investigation, Security camera images of suspect released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of several break-and-enters into apartment buildings.

It is alleged that:

- over the past two months, the suspect has gained entry into eight apartment buildings on the West Mall, Eva Road, and Cordova Avenue

Police have released security camera images of the suspect.

On Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at 8:45 a.m., a man walked into a bank in the Danforth Avenue/Woodbine Avenue area

- the man told the bank teller he was armed with a gun and demanded money

- the man fled the bank with a quantity of money

The suspect is described as 19-25, 5'11"-6', 150-175 lbs., with brown eyes.

Sexual Assault Alert, Man wanted, Update, Composite sketch of suspect released

The Toronto Police Service would like to alert the public to a sexual assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at approximately 8:45 a.m., a 13-year old girl was walking in the Pharmacy Avenue/Ellesmere Road area

- a man approached the girl from behind and sexually assaulted her

- he then fled the area

The man is described as approximately 30, 5'10", with an olive complexion, unkempt appearance and crooked yellow teeth. He was wearing a black nylon coat with a fur−trimmed hood

Police will be canvassing the community for information on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

Two Young Offenders face seven charges in firearm investigation, 9mm handgun seized

On Monday, January 30, 2012, police responded to a call for an armed robbery at a bank in the Silverthorn Avenue/Eglinton Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, January 30, 2012, three men, who had their faces covered with one of them armed with a gun, walked into a variety store in the Silverthorn Avenue/Eglinton Avenue West area

- the men robbed the store clerk of a quantity of money

- the men then fled the scene

On Monday, January 30, 2012, police arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy with:

1) Wear Disguise
2) Robbery while armed with firearm

It is further alleged that:

- on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, officers from the Hold Up Squad executed a search warrant at a home on Blackthorn Avenue

- police seized a loaded 9mm handgun

On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, police arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy with:

1) Robbery while armed with firearm
2) Fail to comply undertaking
3) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
4) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
5) Firearm careless storage

The Young Offenders cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police are still attempting to identify the third person.
