Police request assistance in shooting investigation, Security camera images of "persons of interest" released
On Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 9:32 a.m., police responded to a call for a mischief at 17 Cane Grassway.
It is reported that:
- on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 6:06 p.m., a gunshot was fired inside the building, causing damage to an exterior door.
Police have released security camera images of four Persons of Interest.

Man wanted in Saskatchewan arrested in Peterborough by Fugitive Squad, Darryl Fletcher, 38
On Wednesday, December 21, 2011, 8:25 p.m., the Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad, along with the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service and the Regina Police Service, located and arrested a man wanted in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Darryl Fletcher, 38, of no fixed address, also known as Darryl Myran, was arrested in Peterborough, Ontario.
He has been charged with:
1) Sexual Assault,
2) Forcible Confinement,
3) Uttering Threats,
4) Breach of Recognizance,
5) Breach of Undertaking.
The accused is currently being held in custody while he awaits removal back to Saskatchewan.

It is alleged that:
- on Friday, December 2, 2011, the Toronto Police Service Organized Crime Unit started a kidnapping investigation,
- two men kidnapped a man in Toronto,
- the two men made a demand for a quantity of money from the victim's family.
The victim was located by police in the Don Mills Road area. He suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
On Saturday, December 3, 2011, Jason William King, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Kidnapping,
2) Forcible Confinement,
3) Extortion.

Thursday, December 22, 2011, 3 p.m., 55 Division To Close Swanwick Avenue for Share a Christmas event, Road closures
On Thursday, December 22, 2011, between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., officers from 55 Division will be closing Swanwick Avenue, between Main Street/Kimberley Avenue, for the Share A Christmas distribution day.
"This is Community Centre 55s 30th consecutive year of the Share A Christmas program," Constable Rob McDonald said.

Man faces four charges in aggravated assault investigation

Man faces 20 charges in arson investigation
On Tuesday, December 20, 2011, police arrested a man in connection with an arson investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Monday, July 2, 2007, between 4:29 a.m. and 4:56 a.m., the accused set fire to several west-end homes,
- a total of $1,000,000 in damages were caused to multiple homes, garages, vehicles, and other structures in the area of Christie Pitts Park, between Shaw Street/Christie Street.
Dallas Rostant, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) nine counts of Arson: Disregard for Human Life,
2) nine counts of Arson: to Property,
3) Possession of Incendiary Material,
4) Theft Under $5,000.

Police request assistance with a series of bank robberies across the GTA and Canada, Security camera images of suspects released
The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying four suspects wanted in a series of armed robberies.
It is reported that:
- On Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 2:15 p.m., the first suspect entered a bank on Evans Avenue,
- the man indicated he had a gun and robbed the teller of a quantity of money,
He has been dubbed the Blue-Eyed Bandit.
It is further reported that:
- On Friday, October 16, 2009, at 9:55 a.m., a second suspect entered a bank on Steeles Avenue West,
- the man handed a note, containing computer instructions on how the teller could override the maximum withdrawal amount,
- he received a large quantity of money and fled the scene,
He has been dubbed the Smart bandit.
It is further alleged that:
- between December 3, 2010 and January 24, 2011, a third suspect robbed four banks in Toronto and Hamilton,
- the man handed the teller a note and indicated he was armed,
- he received a quantity of money and fled the scene,
He has been dubbed the January Bandit.
It is further reported that:
- a fourth suspect is responsible for 17 bank robberies across Canada,
- the accused started robbing banks in York Region,
- armed with a handgun, the man entered the banks, vaulting the counter before grabbing cash from the teller before taking off,
- in February 2011, the same man is also responsible for four bank robberies in Calgary before returning to Ontario.
He has been dubbed the Vaulter Bandit.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a suspicious incident.
It is reported that:
- on Monday, December 12, 2011, at 11 p.m., a man was seen following a woman into the washroom at Tim Hortons, 1094 Bloor Street West,
- the man and woman were inside the washroom for approximately 11 minutes where it appears an altercation occurred.
The man is described as 5'4-5'7, medium build with short, black hair. He was last wearing a red and dark-coloured winter jacket, with a cast/walking boot on his right foot.
The man is classified as a "Person of Interest."
Security camera images of him have been released.
